As you may or may not know I'm not the tidiest persons in the world. Possibly genetic, probably just me but I do struggle to keep the house shipshape. Unfortunately I can quite easily blank out the mess and after a while stepping over things becomes second nature.
Anyhow I'm trying my best to conquer this! Hopefully this year I will have a tidy house, or at least semi-tidy. I have some great support on various fora all helping me on my way.
One major problem I have, and I know others also have this problem, is that it's far too easy to start something then notice all the mess, get despondent and just give up. I keep forgetting that this place didn't get messy overnight and one day isn't enough to clear it all (especially with life getting in the way!). So babysteps...babysteps will get me to where I want to be. One small step at a time, but remembering that once something is tidy it has to stay tidy. It's all too easy to clear an area and just let it slide back into chaos again.
Today I have cleared a worktop, not a huge thing but it was filled with stuff. Various toys, tools, jars and other flotsam and jetsam which had just been placed there and forgotten about. I tend to find a lot of "bits" just stuck on the side to deal with later and then left there. So I plan to keep that area tidy and whoever just dumps stuff onto it and wanders off and leaves it had better beware.

The dangers of putting things in a safe place...
So you think it's safe do you? No!
Safe places are only safe if they're labelled with a big notice saying "item you are looking for is here!" At the moment I'm trying to find a badge I have to sew on a uniform. Now two of the badges I didn't put in a safe place but left them on the mantelpiece and so, of course, I knew where those two were. The third unfortunately got separated from his friends and every time I saw it I moved it from safe place to safe place not thinking to add it to the others. With the consequences being that now I have absolutely no idea where it is! Most annoying thing is that I'm convinced I've seen it in the last couple of days and moved it to yet another safe place where I was sure it would be remembered.
So the upshot of the whole thing is that overall safe places do not work. Or should I say they do work, but they are so safe that unless your very lucky you're highly unlikely ever to see that object again!
P.S. And I bet you anything that as soon as I go and purchase another badge the old one will reappear...then I'll wonder why I didn't look in that safe place first!
Note shuttlecock inside this lovely blue glass goblet. Now if I was looking for a shuttlecock I would never have been able to find it! Although it's highly possible now that I will remember where it is so I don't dare more it to another safe place ;o)

What it's all about...
Time and time again I've set up blogs and deleted them again, so this time no pressure on me. This blog will be a showcase of what I'm making, what I've made and what I plan to create. Also what I'm up to if I feel like sharing. So a mish mash of this and that!

Spring is coming already even if it doesn't feel like it!
